Few companies will actually tell you what their ingredients do, but we believe our customers want to know.  Here is a breakdown of what these ingredients actually do:

• Potassium olivate: This is the primary cleanser and "foaming" agent. It is the potassium salt of olive oil—in other words, it is actual soap. Because it is a natural, traditional soap (typical of Moroccan Black Soap), it creates a mild, creamy, and low-profile lather rather than the big, fluffy bubbles you get from synthetic detergents.

• Aqua (water): The solvent that holds the formula together.

• Olea (Olives) & Olive Oil: These provide nourishment, moisture, and serve as the base for the soap.

• Potassium hydroxide: This is the alkaline agent (lye) used to turn the olive oil into soap (a process called saponification). In a finished, properly cured soap, the lye is completely used up and transformed into Potassium olivate.

• Glycerin: A natural humectant that draws moisture to the skin, often a natural byproduct of the soap-making process.

• Sodium benzoate & Potassium sorbate: These are mild, food-grade preservatives used to prevent mold and bacteria from growing in the product.
